The True Meaning of "AMEN"

Amun, and later, Amun-Re was worshipped in Egypt as a hidden, secret god. His name (Imn), means “the hidden one” or “the secret one“.According to mythology, both his name and physical appearance were unknown, thus indicating his unknowable essence.

The Egyptians believed that, Amun was unknown because he represented absolute holiness. He was associated with the air as an invisible force According to Egyptian myth, was self-created. It was believed that he could regenerate himself by becoming a snake and shedding his skin.Amun-Re combined had two opposites of divinity, the hidden and the revealed. As Amun, he was secret, hidden and mysterious, but as Re, he was visible and revealed.

Who is Amen(Amon\Amun) really….?
  1. Amen(Amun) means the “Hidden One” or “The Secret One”.
  2. Amen(Amun) is associated with the air as an invinsible force.
  3. Amen(Amun) has the power to take the form of a snake.
  4. Amen(Amun-Ra) = Baal = Zeus (Greek)

Let’s check what the Scriptures say….
Ephesians 2:2 - Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of thisworld, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit (Amen,Baal,Lord,Satan) that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Genesis 3:1-4 -Now the serpent (snake) was more subtil than any beast of the field which Elohim had made. And he said unto the woman, yea, hath Elohim said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden...

Revelation 12:9 -And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent (snake), called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Does YAH permit the use of "AMEN"?
Exodus 23:13 – And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
Hosea 2:17,19- For I (YAH) will take away the names of Baalim (Lord,Amen) out of her (His Bride) mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.
Duetronomy 18:20 -But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods(Lord,Amen), even that prophet shall die.

The Deception

It is common to end a discourse on spiritual matters, (or end a prayer with the word "Amen". Few of us realize that the word 'Amen' is an Egyptian word. It refers to the Egyptian god of Thebes. The Hebrews adopted the word and it passed into the assembly and used as "Amen". It is a petition for the (god - Amen to fulfill our words).
- MYSTIC GIFTS FROM ANCIENT EGYPT By Dr John Palo

The Israelite exiles from Egypt knew that YAH was not the same as the Egyptian god Aten, and so they presumed he must be the equivalent of the great state god of Egypt. It was decided, therefore, to add the name of that state-god of Egypt to all prayers thereafter, and the name of that Egyptian god was "Amen". To this day, the name of Amen is still recited at the end of prayers in both Jewish and Christian religions.
-Genesis of the Grail Kings by Sir Laurence Gardner;pg.6

"Amen: An Egyptian divity ...
He was worshipped ... as Amen-Ra or 'Amen the Sun.'
-Smith’s Bible Dictionary
Again we can see how the pagans have been made welcome, been conciliated, by adopting the name of a pagan deity into the prayers of the Church [of Rome]. This deity became known as ‘Amen-Ra’, but he was only known as ‘Amen’ among the Thebians.”

-The Final Reformation by Chris Koster

By ending our prayers in 'Amen' ... one could very well ask, "Have we been misled to invoke the name of the Egyptian 'Sun-god' at the end of our prayers?"
-United Hebrew Congregation - Charles J.Voss
"When we did it in ignorance, may be Elohim looked past that. But now that you know the truth, what will you do? Will you continue to use the name of a pagan god to close your prayers? Is it too hard to change that now?
Because you've been using the 'amen' tradition for a long time - will you rationalize and justify why you keep on invoking th name of the Egyptian god, Amen? Will you find a pastor or teacher to reassure you that "it's okay to say 'amen' - Or ...will you give thanks to Elohim for revealing His truth and stop using the name of a pagan god?

Languages Spoken During Messiah's Time

We need to accept the fact that Yahshua was a Jew. He was born into a Jewish family. Yahshua went to worship in the synogogue. He kept the Passover. He ate kosher food.He offered prayers in the synogogue in Jerusalem. Yahshua is Jewish both in his ethnic background and in His religious thought and practice. In short, Yahshua kept the law and commandments of Yahweh. The region where the Messiah grew up was multicultural and multilingual. Therefore, to say that Yahshua only spoke in a certain language does not make sense. The spoken languages among the Jews during Messiah's time were Hebrew, Aramic and Greek.

Messiah Yahshua lived in the city of Nazareth which was under the rule of the Roman Empire. During that time, many Greek speaking gentiles lived in Nazareth, especially in the large city of Sepphoris. In the book of (Matthew 8:5-13) Messiah Yahshua spoke with the Roman Centurion and later with Pontius Pilate in (John 18:28-38).  Koine Greek was an international language of the Roman administration and trade.Whereas, Latin was the language spoken in the Roman army. The Romans do not speak the Aramaic language, therefore there is a strong possibility that Yahshua used Koine Greek or Latin to speak to them.

Yahshua was brought up in a Jewish family. His family was devoutly Jewish. They followed and obeyed what was commanded in the Torah [Luke 2:39-42].Yahshua knew the Hebrew language very well for he was able to sit among the religious leaders, hearing and asking them questions. They were astonished at his understanding and answers of the Torah [ Luke 43-47].During his public ministry, Yahshua read the Hebrew Torah and Haftarah in syanagogue [Luke 4:16].Yahshua spoke about "jots and tittles" , indicating the meticulous attention he gave to the written Hebrew Torah text [Matthew 5:18]. Yahshua also spoke easily with the Samaritan woman at the well [ John 4:4-26] (The Samaritans only spoke Hebrew and not Aramaic). The title Yahshua on the cross was written in Hebrew and not in Aramiac as thought.Yahshua also spoke in Hebrew to the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus. There are many other proofs which have been found and unearthed by archaeologist which proof that Hebrew was indeed used in writing and spoke by the Jewish people.

Aramaic is an ancient Syrian language that goes back to Aram (Genesis 10:23). The descendants of Abraham's brother Nachor are called Arameans (Genesis 22:21) from whom Laban came. Aramaic was the language spoken by the Assyrians and was later adopted by many Jews during the time of the Babylonian exile. Ezra the scribe (4th Century BC) wrote in Aramaic (Aramaic style script for the Torah).Even so, the language used was Hebrew.

Ezra established Torah reading in Hebrew every Sabbath for all synagogues. Furthermore, Hebrew was to be used in all Jewish rituals. He also established the Hebrew recitation of the Amidah (standing prayer).Daniel also used Aramaic for writing.Later, Aramaic script was used as standard text for writing purposes. However, Jewish Aramaic was different from other forms  both in lettering and grammar. The Hebrew Language was used as a common language during the late second Temple period.

Although parts of the Dead Sea scrolls are in Jewish Aramaic and Greek but it is generally accepted that 80% of its text were written in Hebrew. It's unique Jewish lettering shows its close relation to the Hebrew language.Scholars also found Hebrew was used to write all commentaries on the Scriputres and not Aramaic.

Recently, archaeologists discovered in the ancient Jewish village of Huqoq  a glittering mosaic of colored stones once decorated an ancient synagogue floor with scenes of the Biblical hero Samson getting revenge on the Philistines. The mosaic, which is incomplete depicts several scenes. In one, two female faces flank a Hebrew inscription about rewards for people who perform good deeds.www.news.yahoo.com/ancient-mosaic-depicting-fiery-bible-story-discovered-163828071.html

In short, Hebrew has always been the nationalistic language of the Jewish people. Hebrew was accepted as the "Holy tounge" of the Jewish people. Whereas, the Aramaic language was considered as a second fiddle to the Hebrew language. It was told that whoever prays in Aramaic, the ministering angels pay no attention, for angels do not understand Aramaic. It had no prestige and was seen as "the language of the evil force".
